Yemen is experiencing a humanitarian crisis. The worst cholera epidemic worldwide has claimed the lives of thousands and left millions of people sick. Meanwhile, hunger strikes continue in Yemen as people demonstrate against in protest against the government’s oppression. They are accused of launching unrestrained bombardment campaigns to demolish the rebel-held areas, without consideration for civilians’ lives or infrastructure areas.

Yemen is home to 16 million constantly hungry. The system of health care in Yemen is broken due to seven years of war. Because there’s no where else to go but their own homes, the COVID19 victims of the virus are dying as they don’t know where to go.

The poor living conditions of the country make it a breeding environment for HIV-related sexual transmittance. There are 4 million people living in a state of no permanent to call home, and can’t even eat enough since food prices are constantly rising and wages are low- the money that is available is not sufficient for the basic necessities like drinking water or healthcare! This is why it’s going to be extremely difficult to stop this pandemic without assistance from outside. But, we have to act quickly before it’s too much to late.

Although the Yemenite population has been fighting Cholera spreading for a while however, they are not in danger. There’s a possibility of hope due to international organizations like Save The Children USA and World Vision UK supporting them along COVID-19.
